Norsign was appointed by Dandara Living to design, manufacture and install a comprehensive internal and external wayfinding package for City Wharf, a modern residential development. The project required a consistent signage scheme that would help residents and visitors navigate the site while complementing the clean architectural aesthetic throughout the development.
the challenge
Effective wayfinding is essential in residential developments, where residents, visitors, delivery drivers and facilities teams all need to navigate the building, often from multiple access points. Working closely with Dandara Living, Norsign developed a coordinated signage scheme to ensure navigation was clear and intuitive throughout the site.
The signage also needed to integrate seamlessly with the contemporary architecture, providing clear information without dominating the interior spaces or landscaped external environment.
the solution
Norsign delivered a complete signage package spanning both the internal and external areas of the development. Every element was designed to work together, creating a cohesive wayfinding scheme that complements the building’s contemporary architecture.
Internally, high performance plotter cut vinyl graphics were applied directly to walls and doors to provide clear directional information to communal facilities including the reception, library, parcel room, gym, laundry, management office and shared amenity spaces. Flat cut aluminium lettering was used to create a permanent architectural finish in key locations, maintaining a clean and understated appearance throughout the building.
Externally, bespoke freestanding directional totems finished with an architectural timber effect provided clear navigation between apartment blocks and entrances, while complementary entrance signage and parking signs created a consistent identity from the moment visitors arrived on site.
