We were delighted to have been involved with the award winning project based on its focus on the environment, social impact, innovation and functionality of the educational community space.
Newmains and St Brigid’s Community Hub, brings together Newmains Primary School, St. Brigid’s Primary School, a preschool nursery and a range of community focussed facilities into a unified, sustainable campus in the heart of the neighbourhood of Newmains.
sustainable design
Our team worked collaboratively with BDP and Bam Construction to develop the external signage, internal wayfinding, wall graphics and manifestations for North Lanarkshire Council. Norsigns in-house design team produced artwork based on designs provided by BDP matching the specification, checking suitability of each sign type, advising on colours, fixings and sign locations.
Reclaimed timber is used in the landscaping design in this building, whilst the unique interiors are characterised by distinctive timber finishes including the internal signage. The designs incorporate materials and graphics that complement the theme of nature and nurture which is reflected in all designs throughout the school and community spaces.
safety first
As consultants we advise our clients of any H&S implications regarding fitting methods or sign locations.
On the main external building sign we carried out a site survey to confirm sign location, structure and fixing detail prior to manufacture of the building text. This guaranteed the safety and security of the sign before final installation to its location on the canopy above the schools main entrance.
