St Vincent Studios is a multi-storey student accommodation development in Glasgow, combining residential accommodation with a wide range of shared facilities including study spaces, lounges, a cinema, gym, and co-working areas.
signage identity
With accommodation spread across multiple floors and a wide range of communal spaces throughout the building, St Vincent Studios required a clear and consistent wayfinding system that residents could easily follow.
Norsign worked with Graham Construction to develop the signage package across the building, creating a coordinated system for identifying floors, apartments and shared facilities. Floor directories bring together apartment numbers and facilities at each level, while level indicators and directional signage provide clear information at key points along the route.
Consistency was particularly important across a development of this scale. The same typography, materials and finishes were carried through the different sign types, allowing everything from lift and stair identification to directions for the cinema, gym, laundry, study spaces and roof terraces to work as part of one complete system rather than as individual signs.

The wider package included acrylic room signs for communal spaces, individual flat-cut aluminium apartment numbers and emergency escape plan signage throughout the accommodation.
Bespoke identification signage was also manufactured for reception, alongside illuminated feature signage within the communal areas. The reception sign combines a fabricated acrylic tray with individually applied acrylic lettering, while the feature signage uses internally illuminated LED acrylic mounted to concealed aluminium back trays.

From the main building identification through to floor directories, wayfinding and individual room signs, each element follows the same clear visual style. The mix of acrylic, aluminium, subtle colour contrasts and illuminated features creates a coordinated signage scheme that works naturally throughout St Vincent Studios.
