As part of the construction of St John’s Catholic Primary School, Norsign was appointed by Tilbury Douglas to manufacture and install a complete internal and external signage package. The project required a coordinated approach to deliver clear wayfinding, statutory compliance and a consistent visual identity across the new school environment.
creating a clear signage scheme
The external signage package established a strong first impression of the school while assisting pupils, staff and visitors in navigating the site. Large built up aluminium lettering identified the building, complemented by new entrance signs, replacement site signs, directional panels, external room identification and a dedicated muster point sign. The package also included specialist safety signage for external operational areas.
Internally, the scheme combined directory boards, directional signs, door identification and toilet signage to create an intuitive wayfinding system. Clear acrylic signage with reverse printed graphics provided a modern, durable finish that aligned with the architectural design while ensuring information remained easy to read throughout the building.

safety integrated
Alongside the wayfinding package, Norsign supplied a comprehensive range of photoluminescent statutory signage, including fire exit signs, fire action notices, break glass call point signs, refuge signage and push bar signs. By delivering both architectural and statutory signage under a single package, the project maintained consistency across all visual communication while meeting the required safety standards.
